Many people can only read or hear about Promethean artists who have shifted paradigms, perspectives, and approaches. However, we can breathe the same oxygen and experience this legacy while he still drives the carbon avatar. Just to follow up from the “Never Running Again” Breakdown … were you ever caught by the truancy van and what happens when students are scooped up?
They take yo ass back to school for “reeducation”. My mother was so strict. They would ask “Do Y.O.U want to go to jail or go home” and I’d say “jail”.
At what moment did you have the epiphany that you were born to pursue a creative career…or embark on your artistic exodus? ( I’m interested in the rap side of it but you're a multidimensional innovator and I’m sure your mediums have led into one another )
Since I was about 5 I’ve been afflicted with the rhythm of life. Overtly aware and acutely perceptive. I have always been hyper aware and artistic. I began my artistic journey drawing. Then I would take these drawings and make what I would call “projects”. Punch holes in the pictures I drew and tie them to a wire hanger, bend the hanger into a circle to create sort of a carousel. That’s the first artistic endeavor I can remember.

If you were a pair of shoes what would they be ?
Golden Goose. My favorite shoe and the shoe I wear mostly every day in different colors and flavors. The logo iZ a star and I’m a star. I live my life wearing trinkets and reminders of my own power.
Which producer do you have the best chemistry with ?
Constrobuz most likely.
You seem to have an immaculate chemistry with 7TRiiiBES , I have been tapped in with them from SoundCloud days particularly Ki Bohiti. You introduced me to KAST through the amazing track “Nosediive”. Would you say they are some of your favourite collaborators? Feel free to list any other carbon conduits that compliment your creative process.
Ki, Kast070beheard, Phi are revolutionaries. They represent the essence of True Hip Hop. When I met them they were doing coat drives and food giveaways for the homeless. That’s what made me take note of them. I went through my pitfalls as an artist at this time as well. Their friendship was pure and based off of love. I needed that specifically at that time. No extra intentions or deception. Just brotherhood. They saw the best in me when I couldn’t see it. Our music together iZ a byproduct of our love for one another.
Do you mind explaining “Y.O.U.” and this movement you have founded ?
Y.O.U iZ a magnet. Y.O.U iZ the movement. Your Own Understanding Iz the key to unlocking all that Y.O.U desire. That’s the simple version. I found Y.O.U as a calling. The acronym whispered in my ear suddenly. It encompasses all of my spiritual studies. The Metu Neter by Ra Un Nefer Amen, New Thought practitioners like Helena Blavatsky & Henry Alcott, Spiritual Scientist like Neville Goddard & Bob Proctor, Self Help Concepts, and at the root of it are the words and Ideals of two black men in Particular Reverend Ike and Father Divine. They were a combination of all these principles but what inspired particularly about them iZ their use of language and relatability. That hint of SOUL. I’m more of a reader than a watcher. I don’t watch much TV unless it’s something Nostalgic from my childhood like Pro Wrestling or Cartoon’s. Or something historic and educational. I use those things to soften the brain. The brain calcifies from TV programming. Key word “Programming”. Child like entertainment keeps me young in thought and creative. Formless if Y.O.U will. Other than that I study a lot of history and piece together my spirituality and image of myself. Y.O.U iZ self image, self conception, vision in action, energy. Y.O.U iZ the MOVEMENT. Meaning action + intention creates results. What Y.O.U implant in your mind sculpts your ability to think. It Can either limit or enhance your ability to create. This works on a molecular level. What Y.O.U See, What Y.O.U Say and What Y.O.U listen to defines Y.O.U. Nobody iZ above this law. If u listen to chaotic music, grow in a chaotic environment or have chaotic conversations Y.O.U will produce chaos. I study what I want to be. I visualize what I want to be. Therefore I am what I want to be. That iZ Understanding. That’s the only truth in life. All religion, entertainment, and distractions in general only exist to take away from the value of that truth. Take a look at the internet and what it has done to people’s perception and appreciation of themselves. Over analyzing negatives only brings negative. Personal Power iZ the infinite resource. Y.O.U give that away when Y.O.U follow the influence of others. Ironically we place power on the one with the most “followers” never stopping to think whether that person iZ a “follower” themselves. All planned. All to keep man out of touch with his natural self. This iZ money driven. But essentially Y.O.U iZ self belief.

Which movie could you watch everyday/at anytime and still find data, entertainment and inspiration?
Hmmm Maybe Aladdin if I had to think of something random. It’s a very deep informative movie. It’s a movie about self discovery. The myth of the “gin”. Aladdin represents man. The lamp represents the lungs. A genie lamp iZ shaped like a lung. The metaphor iZ he spoke himself into being due to self belief. He found the lamp in a cave representing our own inner darkness. In this cave there were all types of visual treasures diamonds and rubys. But he was only meant to touch what was meant for him. When they touched the other objects they melted. He was betrayed, he had false confidence, he envied the other “real” princes. At the end he doesn’t free the genie. That’s the misnomer. He frees himself from the reliance on the genie.
What is the inspiration behind your favourite and least favourite track you've created ?
My favorite iZ probably “The Weight of Water Part 2” from Vol. 1 I Love Y.O.U Cuz Y.O.U Ugly… the inspiration was water. Formless and Omnipresent. My least favorite iZ probably “Huzzah” everyone knows that I think. The song was inspired by “the proles” in George Orwell’s 1984. It was about the freedom of being poor. I was really into that book and Animal Farm when I wrote that song. The original name was “Victory Gin” there goes that word “gin” again by the way. But I changed it to “Huzzah” later based off of a jacket I owned at the time. “Celebration” meaning celebrate even when Y.O.U have nothing. It’s my least favorite because I think it’s very misunderstood.
I Love Y.O.U. cuz Y.O.U. Ugly Vol.1 , talk to me about this project - what makes this your favourite project? How did you push your boundaries creatively during its conjuring and are there any interesting stories about its conception you could share?
Hmmm this album iZ where I found Y.O.U it’s my genesis and apex as an artist to me. I dealt with romance “Chocolate Sunshine”, I eulogized my uncle on “Shango”, I expressed my entire spiritual awakening on that Album. I feel like people love “Kismet” but Vol. 1 iZ that album on Mushrooms. Where I was frustrated and lost in my earlier work I was confident and self assured in that record. Just in my viewpoint of the world and my own identity. A record like “Ptah” sounds like I’m talking about something wild and I am. But it also iZ the Egyptian god of Creativity. That’s a wink at the adept listener and decoder. I separate myself in this way in a lot of my work. Using your stereotypes and biases against Y.O.U. Yall think I’m the fool only because you’re the fool. I’m the mystic.

Favourite rap verse? ( one that your ancestors gave you , and another the ancestors gave to one of your favourite contemporaries)
My favorite verse iZ Melle Mel “Beat Street Rap” no one has ever rapped that well since and no one ever will.

Who is the most promethean artist you recognize in this century and one before ours ?
Probably Eddie Hazel, Willie Hutch or Stevie Wonder. As far as now Me ofcourse. Absolutely untouchable in any aspect.

Which colours do you see having an intergalactic battle due to their rivalry on a canvas or in a palette ? (Mine are black and white )
Pink and Purple.
You're obviously a cinephile - If you had to go on a mission in a random universe to take out a building "raid" style which team of five anime or movie characters would you take to back you up (you could even mix them up and use both movies and anime)

Give me one of your least favourite stereotypes about artists or someone with imagination in general?
That anyone can choose to be an artist. I truly dislike seeing a generic “artist”. Art chooses Y.O.U
How regularly are you slapped in the face by the diamond forged palms of imposter syndrome ?
Probably never at this point. I went through that journey tho. It made me realize I was actively being all I desired to be. I was just unaware.

Gorilla it’s stronger.
Are you more inspired by Nature (trees , mountains etc ) or Infrastructure (buildings , bridges etc) ?
I love old buildings. I love the Bronx because of how many blocks look untouched by gentrification. I love imagining the scenery of what went down on these blocks the hustling, the community, the essence. I love old buildings.
What was your best psychedelic trip and what did you come away with? You could also flip the question to your worst trip if you want to .
I went to Rhode Island and drunk Mushroom tea with a Shaman once. I was then left in a room to trip and came down shirtless on a roof in the rain.
Favourite Character in The GodFather Trilogy , and if not GodFather choose a trilogy and maybe explain your reasoning for your selection ?
Michael but I can’t say why.
Do you prefer Aztec art or Egyptian art ? Why do you like the one you chose and which of these images do you prefer?
Egyptian for sure because I’m black. I have the eye of Horus tatted on my left hand.
Is there any distinction between how you exist everyday and create art?
No it’s all real. I call it living an enhanced truth. I don’t lie I just enhance the truth.
Are you connected to your current location? - and even if not, does your current environment have anything to offer your career?
Yeah ima sponge. We all are. Can’t stop it.

When doing what you do - are you creating with a specific visual component in mind? Or do you flow with second nature intention? (I know you answered this on the second track on your recent birthday project happy belated btw but I know you don't only make music so feel free to delve into other forms)
Yeah writing iZ like breathing air for me. No more complex or complicated than talking to my best friend. It all works from within. The romantic words u whisper into a lovers ear, the funny ride home from the club with your friends, the inspiration behind art are all one and the same. Just different sections of the same humanity. I don’t make things complex or decide to be boxed in. I just exist as a ball of energy and understanding. Constantly growing within and navigating my own subconscious. So basically I just keep it natural and fluid.

Money
How do you handle feedback from other artists and casual spectators ?
I don’t anymore. I used to really get hung up on the idea of people perceiving me as a mindless nigger who raps about liquor and strippers. I confess it drove me crazy. I literally went crazy and had a nervous breakdown behind it. That’s why I just stopped pursuing my career. Bothered me to no end. Had to go to therapy and the whole 9. So making music for me iz so much more empowering now.
Because I’m aware of myself and I get that most people are not really on a level mentally to even critique or praise me. I’m not like anyone ever to do what I do. Nobody iZ even a fair comparison. I’m above most people’s awareness man. I am and I don’t guilt myself about my complexity anymore. I just accept I’m me. However u see me negative or positive iZ up to Y.O.U. I really am all I say I am.
Which album do you listen through without skipping? - Think you could name ten of your favourite songs off top?
Ten iZ a lot. Album’s not many.
Who do you want your audience to be when you develop your concepts/creations?
Whoever it speaks to intuitively. I look at myself like an expensive book. The average person iZ not gonna spend $200 dollars to read The Metu Neter. But those who want something deeper will. I make music at a higher frequency than most. Every song iZ multi dimensional. Layered yet simple. I’ve had people from all walks of life tell me they relate to me. In marketing if Y.O.U are for everyone then Y.O.U are for no one. I choose to only be for myself. All that are themselves will relate to it.
Mr. MFN eXquire’s points of view, applications to forms, and affinity for pedagogy are indications of his autodidacticism.

Allison’s insights on his internal/external environments - the essence of human behaviour or cause & effect’s integral role in this sacred feedback loop are fine-tuned profundities. This state of operation likens his idiosyncrasies to that of a weary time traveler who has seen it all but is still frenetic in his curious disposition. Knowing precursors and outcomes but relishing the unknowing of the liminal spaces. This distinctive mindset is the omen alluding to his immortalization in the inventive space we call the “Art World”
This charismatic shaman—divine portent nurtures the community spirit in his own way and refuses to allow things outside of himself to determine how he experiences his “Enhanced Truth”.
